This weekend, Consigning Closets will turn the Fayette County
Kiwanis Fairground into a consignment bonanza, featuring over
15,000 items for sale and open to the public from 8 am to 4 pm.
The event will take place in a 20,000 square foot exhibition
hall and will contain quality children's consignment and a variety
of vendors. To date, Consigning Closets has more than 500 consigners.
An example of the items for sale includes clothing, toys, baby
items such as strollers and cribs, maternity clothing and related
items, just to name a few of the finds.
"We are able to provide quality items to families at a
fraction of retail price," says sale organizer Vicki Powell.
She knows that the sales are especially loved by stay-at-home
moms, who like the savings and being able to buy all their clothing
in one place.
Not only is Consigning Closets a way to help families in the
are find affordable clothing in an easy shopping atmosphere,
the sales benefit others in need. A portion of the profits from
each sale is given to a Christian orphanage in Liberia, and items
not sold or claimed by the consigners are donated to the Pregnancy
Resource Center of Fayette.
"It is an incredible feeling knowing that so many lives
are being touched through our efforts," Powell says.
The Consigning Closets fall sale is located at 939 Goza Road
in Fayetteville. The sale will take place Friday and Saturday,
September 11 and 12, from 8 am to 4 pm. Call 678-485-8708 for
