PTC fire chief recovering from strokePeachtree City Fire Chief Stony Lohr is recovering at Piedmont Hospital after suffering a mild stroke late last week. Lohr suddenly fell ill about halfway through Thursday nights Peachtree City Council meeting. Noticing a commotion among city staffers, Mayor Steve Brown and other councilmembers quickly called the meeting into recess while paramedics were called. EMS arrived on the scene quickly to attend to the chief, who waved off a stretcher and walked out of City Hall on his own accord. Lohr was later taken to Fayette Community Hospital to be checked out, and then transfered to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta for further observation, sources said. Lohr was expected to remain in the hospital at least through midweek. Details of his condition were kept private. Brown refused to elaborate on Lohrs illness, citing HIPPA confidentiality laws, but said City Hall was anxious to have the fire chief back on the job. Obviously, we dont want to rush anything, Brown said. As soon as he feels up to it, wed love to have him back.
