 Dispute turns ugly: wife stabs husband in chest

A Peachtree City woman has been arrested for stabbing her husband during a domestic dispute Thursday night, police said.

Sallie Maxie, 49, stabbed Barry Maxie in the chest with a six-inch filleting knife during the struggle, according to information released by the Peachtree City Police Department. Barry Maxie was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment, which is typical protocol for those with serious life-threatening injuries.

Sallie Maxie was arrested for aggravated assault and booked at the Fayette County Jail, police said. Barry Maxie will also face charges of battery and obstructing a 911 call, police said.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing, police said.
