High-intensity zoning gets new restriction from city fathersFayetteville has strengthened its zoning category for high-intensity commercial development. The city currently requires that such zoning districts have access to two four-lane state highways to insure the development has adequate infrastructure to support the increased traffic that will result. The new tweak to the ordinance requires that the hour-lane highway sections must be five miles in length to prevent a developer from widening a small section of highway adjacent to the property to obtain the C-4 high intensity zoning, said City Planning and Zoning Director Jahnee Prince. The change was approved by the citys Planning and Zoning Commission at a July meeting.
