SUV blaze damages downtown building
SUV blaze damages downtown buildingA sport utility vehicle was heavily damaged after it caught fire in downtown Fayetteville Tuesday afternoon, but no one was hurt during the blaze, fire officials said. The 2000 Ford Expedition was parked in front of Fayette Floor and Wallcovering, with the building receiving some minor damage, said Fayetteville Fire Marshal Martin Mundok. When the first fire engine arrived, the SUV was almost completely engulfed in flames, Mundok said. It took five minutes for firefighters to get the fire under control as another engine was called to the scene since the vehicle was so close to the building, he added. The fire started in the engine compartment of the vehicle, Mundok noted. John Munford
