Peachtree City Triathlon sees large number of dedicated athletes participate

The 2004 Peachtree City Triathlon was held last Saturday. There were five hundred participants in the race, which included a .2-mile swim, a 12-mile bike ride and a 5K road race.

Local competitors who placed in the top three were:

• Julie Murphy, 37, Sharpsburg, first overall female, 1:11.13.

• Valerie Reynolds, 44, Senoia, first overall female masters, 1:18.47.

• Bob Dalton, 51, Fayetteville, second overall male masters, 1:08.25.

• Taylor Lego, 13, Fayetteville, first female 1-14, 1:38:31.

• Ashton Lego, 11, Fayetteville, second female 1-14, 1:41:32.

• Victoria Cuneo, 12, Fayetteville, third female 1-14, 1:52:17.

• Phillip Bell, 14, Senoia, first male 1-14, 1:29:28.

• Bryan Mitchell, 16, Peachtree City, first male 15-19, 1:10:09.

• Ashley Freuler, 23, Peachtree City, thrid female 20-24, 1:26.34.
