Sanchez making progress

Matt Sanchez, the Our Lady of Mercy football player injured in their game against Pacelli, is making slow progress, according to the school’s athletic director Bill Schmitz. Sanchez broke his fifth vertebrae in a collision with a Pacelli player and is at the Shepherd Spinal Center.

“He is in intense physical therapy now and is fighting hard to recover,” said Schmitz. “While the future for Matt is still unknown, his progress since the accident is truly inspiring. I am amazed at his will and determination.”

A fund has been established at the school and anyone who would like to contribute should send donations to the school in his name.
