N. Fayette bank held up MondayRobber made getaway, wore eyeglasses and ball cap By JOHN MUNFORD
A branch of Talbot State Bank on the northern edge of Fayette County was robbed Monday afternoon, police said. No one was hurt, but the suspect was able to get away before sheriffs deputies arrived, officials said. Crime scene technicians processed the area as the bank remained closed in the hopes of finding physical evidence to identify the suspect, police said. A host of marked and unmarked sheriffs units swarmed the bank after a 911 dispatchers radio alert around 3 p.m. The suspect was described as a dark-skinned black male, about 5 feet 3 inches tall, wearing a ballcap, eyeglasses and a grey T-shirt and grey pants. It was unclear at press time how much money the suspect got away with, nor was it known whether he produced a weapon or perhaps indicated that he had one. Initial reports dispatched on police radio indicated that the suspect handed a note to a teller at the bank which said, Dont look up, perhaps in an attempt to keep himself from being identified.
