Jonesboro bank robber caught on tape
FBI seeks public help to ID, catch suspect
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is asking the public to help identify
a man who robbed the Southtrust Bank on Jonesboro Road in Morrow Thursday
around noon.
The man wrote out his demand note on paper while enjoying a sucker he picked
up at a customer service desk, agents said. He then presented the note to
a teller, who gave the unmasked man an undisclosed amount of cash, the FBI
said.
The robber, a white male in his mid to late 20s, left the area on foot.
He was described as approximately 5’7”, 160 pound with a tanned,
unshaven appearance. He wore khaki-colored pants, a khaki-colored button
downshirt and a baseball cap.
Agents were able to pull still images of the suspect from the bank’s
surveillance cameras.
The robbery is being investigated by the FBI and the Clayton County Police
Department. Anyone with information about the robber’s identity or whereabouts
is asked to contact the FBI at 404-679-9000.
