Triathlon set for this weekendThe second annual Peachtree City Tri-PTC Sprint Triathlon will take place this Saturday. There will be 500 participants in age groups from 14 and under to 80 and over, as well as the USA Triathlon Regional Championship for U23 (ages 20-23) and Junior (ages 16-19) triathletes from the Southeast. The U23/Junior race begins at 7:10 a.m. and the age group races begin at 7:30 a.m. An awards ceremony will follow at 9:45 a.m. The top three finsihers in each age group will receive a custom-made Tri-PTC award. Course maps and more information is available at www.tri-ptc.com. Organizers warn Peachtree City residents to expect some traffic delays on the following streets: Willowbend, Hip Pocket, Kelly Dr., McIntosh Trail, Robinson Rd., Braelinn Rd., and Colonnade Dr. Organizers are also still seeking volunteers to help with the race. Volunteers will receive a coveted Tri-PTC volunteer T-shirt and an invite to the volunteers only post-party. E-mail volunteer coordinator Bob Trombly at rtrombly@bellsouth.net for more information.
