Tourism Assn. budget doneThe Peachtree City Tourism Association has completed its Fiscal Year 2005 budget, totaling $3,037,861, and is forwarding it to the Peachtree City Mayor and Council for approval at the Sept. 2 meeting. The budget includes $1.5 million for the Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater, $900,000 for the Peachtree City Tennis Center, and $650,000 for general administration and several tourism events. It is significant to note that both the Amphitheater and Tennis Center are currently operating in the black without receiving any Hotel/Motel Tax supplements from the City.Ê said PCTA Chairman Steve Rapson. The proposed budget sustains that operating condition, with no Hotel/Motel Tax supplements included in the operation. The proposed budget also includes $200,000 in funding from Hotel/Motel Taxes for special events formerly funded by Peachtree City General Fund revenues, including the Peachtree City July 4th Celebration, Shakerag Arts & Crafts Festival, and emergency services support for the Great Georgia Air Show.ÊThe budget also provides $126,174 for the Peachtree City Airport Authority. The PCTA board approved the budget for submittal to Council at the Aug. 18 PCTA meeting.ÊFollowing Council approval, which is required by the associations by-laws, the PCTA will formally adopt the budget at the Sept. 15 meeting.
