Offshoot Productions will audition actors for Snow White
and the Seven Dwarfs, a charming participation play by Maurice
Berger, in early September. The cast will consist of three experiencedperformers
to portray Snow White, the Queen, and the Stage Manager, who
enacts all the male roles in the play. Several adult and teen
apprentices will be chosen to create roles in humorous curtain-raisers
that take a new look at old tales.
Auditions will be held at the Fayette Family YMCA, 215
Huiet Road in Fayetteville. Actors auditioning for the professional
cast may attend either of two sessions: Tuesday, September 7,
from 6:45 to 9:30 p.m. or Wednesday, September 8, from 6:45 to
9:30 p.m. The auditions will consist of reading from the script
and improvisation.
Apprentices, who must fill out an application form and
set up an audition/interview appointment, may attend on Thursday,
September. 2, from 6:45 to 9:30 p.m. or Saturday, September 11,
from 10 a.m. to noon. Those apprentice applicants who wish only
to pursue technical theatre may set up appointments for interviews
at these times as well. The program is open to anyone aged 16
or older, regardless of prior experience. Occasionally, exceptions
are made to include promising, mature apprentices younger than
16.
Callbacks for both groups will be held on Saturday,
September 11, from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m.
The show will run at the Fayette Family YMCA from October
29 to November 13.
