The Fayette Family YMCA announces its Fall program schedule.
The YMCA is located on 30 acres on Huiet Rd., Fayetteville, on
the site of Fayette Play Park.
Family Nites are offered once a month on Saturdays from
4-9 p.m. with a pioneer theme cookout, and activities include
swimming, canoeing (weather permitting), arts & crafts, field
games and more. The cost is $10 per person or $30 per family
of four. The nights are Aug. 14, Sept. 18 and Oct. 30 with a
special Halloween event. Register by Wednesday of week scheduled.
Soccer for ages 3-11. Everyone plays, and practice is
one day each week with a game on Saturday. The fee is $60 and
includes uniform. Parent coaches and volunteers are needed.
Holiday Camp will be offered during the school holiday
break. Let the YMCA help you plan for the days when students
are not in school. Camp will open at 7 a.m. with pick up no later
than 6:30 p.m. Campers will bring lunch, but snacks will be provided.
The camps are November 22-24, December 17, 20-23, 27-30, January
3, February 22-25 and April 4-8. The fee is $25/day or $100/5-day
week.
Y-Pioneer Guides continues to have great leadership as
the parent guides the child in learning new skills, teaching
values and having lots of fun.
The YMCA parent/child program is rich in tradition, structure,
ritual and routine. Parents lead by example as they set their
children on a path through life. The program is for father/son;
father/daughter; mother/son; and mother/daughter.
Ages are K-3 through sixth grade. The fee is $60 per parent/child
pair.
Y Leaders Club is open to teens in high school. Teens
are encouraged to learn new skills and develop their talents
while volunteering and exploring opportunities for employment
by participating in the leaders program. They also learn to organize
a community service project. Teens meet bi-monthly at the YMCA
from 7-8:30 p.m. The fee is $25/year and membership in the YMCA
is $35 per year. Additional trips and events will be scheduled
during the year. The Leaders Club is guided by an adult leader,
and officers are elected to direct activities as well as designate
representatives to fill various operational positions.
