Clark returns to mentor in Lightning programThis year, Richonne Clark is stepping up to coach the AFC Lightning White 90 Girls team. Clark and his younger brother Ricardo are no strangers to the Lightning program; Richonne was struck at the age of 10 when he began playing for his dad, Lance Clark. Throughout Clarks life he has been eager to learn and strives for success. At the age of 11, he began refereeing for AFC Lightning, he continued to play for Lightning up until the age of 18 as a forward and midfielder when he was coached and trained by David Chadwick. Although both brothers have taken their soccer careers in different directions since their first touches on the ball, their foundation lies with AFC Lightning. Clarks younger brother Ricardo has chosen to become a National team player with the New York/New Jersey Metro Stars. Richonne has chosen to pursue his success in challenging players to maximize their athletic ability with AFC Lightning. Clark dedicates many hours of personal training to committed soccer players. His success, skill and love of the game are exhibited through his players. It is not uncommon to hear players asking him for extra training. He currently holds a National level C license and was named MVP for Clayton State College in 1998 where he is presently completing his degree in education. Furthermore, during his Sophomore year he was the teams all-time leading scorer. On any given day, you can find Richonne, his dad Lance or his younger brother, Ricardo on a soccer field. His new team and AFC Lightning are glad to have him.
