PTC martial arts teacher attends taekwondo campHundreds of high ranked martial artists from the American Taekwondo Association gathered in Little Rock, Ark., earlier this summer on a mission to master new skills in the ever-evolving sport of Songham Taekwondo. Eddrick High, a fourth-degree black belt from Peachtree City, joined fellow black belts at the annual ATA Leadership Camp for the strenuous four-day event, which included self-defense clinics, advanced weapons training and the new ATA Extreme Martial Arts workouts. High and his colleagues studied traditional Protech weapons such as the sword and Bahng Mahng Ee while also learning how to use a common item like a travel wrench as protection during possible attacks. During the ATA Extreme workouts, the black belts were introduced to a new presentation style of taekwondo, which incorporates complex martial arts movements with sophisticated choreography. Grand Master Soon Ho Lee, ninth-degree black belt, and other members of the ATAs elite Masters Council led High and other campers during their arduous workouts throughout the weekend. These are some of our organizations finest members and it is refreshing to see such high ranked martial artists on a quest to gain even more knowledge and instruction, said Grand Master Lee.
