Running club donates police bikePeachtree City Running Club President George Martin presents Mayor Steve Brown and Police Chief James Murray with a check for $1,000 for the purchase of a replacement police bicycle at the Aug. 5 City Council meeting. The bicycle will be used in patrolling bike paths and remote areas of the city. The donation was in appreciation for the outstanding work and cooperation of the Peachtree City Police Department at each years Classic Road Race. The Running Club has given over $15,000 in the form of scholarships and donations to community organizations so far this year. Monies are raised through the Peachtree City Classic run, this year to be held Oct. 16. The club is also hosting the PTC Fitness Challenge this year as a team competition for companies and organizations in Peachtree City.
