John Wieland Homes & Neighborhoods has named Scott Auer
President of the companys South Atlanta Region. This promotion
comes on the heels of Auers success over the past year
and positions the company for further growth and expansion. Wielands
South Region encompasses all of the companys operations
on the Southside of Atlanta including Fayette County, South Fulton
County and Dekalb County.
A graduate of North Carolina State University, Scott became
interested in homebuilding through his volunteer involvement
with Habitat for Humanity. He moved to Atlanta in 1994 and soon
after joined John Wieland as a finish manager in North Atlanta.
Scott soon progressed to builder, project manager and eventually
region manager in Wielands Northwest Atlanta Region, garnering
extensive construction experience with both single-family homes
and townhomes. Notably, Scotts responsibilities as a region
manager included Wielands most successful neighborhood,
Vinings Estates in Cobb County, which set a company record for
number of homes closed in 2002 and was also home to the 2002
New American Home that drew more than 20,000 visitors in a six-week
period.
Scott has distinguished himself as one of the region managers
for the Northwest Region and has handled tremendous volume over
the last few years, said Wieland president Eric Price. I
am certain he will do an excellent job leading the South Region
as they continue to grow.
Wielands South Region includes eleven neighborhoods throughout
Fayette, South Fulton and Dekalb Counties and closed 279 homes
for revenues of $93 million last year.
Founded by John Wieland in 1970, John Wieland Homes & Neighborhoods
is currently building in 60 neighborhoods throughout the Southeast,
with 1608 closings and revenues of $605 million in 2003. Named National

Award Winner, the company is the Southeasts leading
builder of move-up homes. For more information on John Wieland
