Christs Church begins fall programsChrists Church at Whitewater invites members of the community to participate in its upcoming fall series of programs entitled The Well, beginning Wednesday, Aug. 18. The program focuses on being renewed and refreshed by fellowship with Gods people and through His Word, a spokesperson said. Dr. Steve Hooks will lead an adult Bible study, a series entitled, A Theological Reading of Genesis: Portraits of God from the First Book of the Bible. Other events offered this fall include childrens activities and classes from 6:30-7:45 p.m. Student ministry for all youth is from 6:30-8 p.m. A nursery is available as well. The Fine Arts Ministry will conduct adult choir rehearsals from 6:30-8 p.m. The orchestra will rehearse from 8-8:45 p.m. Willie Lamb, deaf ministry director, will begin an intermediate sign language class on Wednesday, Sept. 1, which will continue each Wednesday from 6:45-7:45 p.m. The class will conclude on Nov. 17. Lamb will incorporate a Bible Study into the class as well. A family meal, catered by different local restaurants, is served each Wednesday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. For those who desire to join the family meal, the cost is $5 for adults and $3 for ages kindergarten through fifth grade. Children 4 years and under are free. Reservations are required by Tuesday at noon. Contact the church office, 770-461-1487, to make a dinner reservation.
