Fulton County hosts back-to-school roundup August 7Free school supplies, carnival rides and more The Fulton County Department of Parks and Recreation is gearing up to host its annual Back-to-School Roundup, a fun event where children receive free school supplies to get them ready for the school year.Ê The event is Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Government Center Atrium, 141 Pryor St. S.W, Atlanta. All Fulton County school age children are welcome to attend, and must be accompanied by an adult. Free school supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 1,000 youth wearing a wristband provided by Parks staff. The Fulton County Health Department will provide free state-mandated health, vision and dental screenings, and children can sign up for library cards with the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library Bookmobile. Additionally, Fulton County firefighters will teach fire evacuation procedures using the Fire Departments mobile Fire Safety House, and Fulton County Police officers will offer safety information. Entertainment will include artists, jugglers, clowns, a moonwalk, carnival rides and games.ÊFree hotdogs and Coca-Cola products will be served, beginning at 10 a.m. The Back-to-School Roundup is the final event of Fulton Countys Super Summer, a Countywide program of arts, health, recreation, education and job-related activities.Ê Other departments in the Super Summer program include the Arts Council, Cooperative Extension, Human Services, and the General Services/Transportation division.
