Vandals destroy 40 mailboxes in south PTC

$500 reward offered by police for information

About 40 mailboxes all over south Peachtree City were destroyed in the early hours of Wednesday morning, police said.

“They’d do five or six on one street and then they’d go to another one and do three or four,” said Peachtree City Police Chief James Murray. “What surprises me is that nobody heard them.”

The destruction apparently took place in the “wee, wee hours of the morning,” Murray said.

“This kind of thing happens every year and we always catch who did it,” Murray said.

A $500 reward is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for the damage, Murray said.
