Beau finds a homeBeau has been a faithful member of the Coweta County Prison bloodhound team. He has led the team on numerous searches for escaped prisoners and missing persons over many years. Beau, 14 years old, headed Monday to a good home with plenty of room to roam. There were a total of three applications received by the Animal Control Department, two in Coweta and one in Marietta. It was the desire of officials to keep Beau in Coweta if at all possible. Coweta County Prison Warden Bill McKenzie talked with the Marietta applicant and the two Coweta sites were given a visual inspection to go along with the written application. After looking at the three possibilities, Jackie Shelnutt, who lives in western Coweta County, was chosen as the caregiver for Beau's retirement years. Photo/Special. |
