The Youth Students of The League of Fine ArtistsSouth
(LOFAS), a fine artist league on the South side, and students
of Georgette Liberatore, president, are displaying their work
at the Peachtree City and Fayette County Libraries during August
and September.
Chris Claburn, 13, Peachtree City, and Catherine Mahony, 11,
Tyrone, are displaying works in oil and acrylic--completed in
the Saturday morning open studio art class in Ms. Liberatores
Fairburn studio.
Claburn attends Rising Starr Middle School, plays baseball,
enjoys music, and assisted with Vacation Bible school this summer.
He paints in oil.
Mahony is a student at Tyrone Elementary School, plays volleyball,
soccer and Lacrosse. She also likes horses and stamp collecting.
She paints with acrylic.
Recognition is an important aspect of the work we all
engage in, and this show accomplishes that in encouraging these
youngsters to even greater accomplishments. States Liberatore.
The league, formed by Ms. Liberatore, Fairburn, and Eleanor Honey Corbin,
Peachtree City, seeks to promote a greater appreciation of fine
art, and to support the efforts of fine artists on the South
side.
The public is invited to view the art during regular library
hours.
