Gym South flipping for national eventSaturday is National Gymnastics Day and Gym South will be celebrating with a day filled with fun events for the whole family. In addition to the Cartwheel-A-Thon, which is a fundraiser for Childrens Miracle Network, there will also be an obstacle course, a rock wall, hula-hooping contests and relay races for children to participate in. All of the Gym South gymnastics teams will be putting on demonstrations and there will be martial arts and dance demonstrations as well. The theme of this years event will be the Olympics and there will be awards given to contest winners. This is the sixth year of National Gymnastics Day, which is an event sponsored by USA Gymnastics. The purpose of the day is to introduce the community to the sport and the gyms that offer classes. Gym South is on the east side of Ga. Highway 85 north of Fayette Pavilion.
