Wedding Announcements

Whitworth-Godwin

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Shirkness and Dr. and Mrs. Charles Whitworth of Madison, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Allison Lynn Whitworth, to Fred Joseph Godwin III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Godwin II of Troy, Ohio.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Allen Jr. of Decatur. A 1999 graduate of Bob Jones High School, she was graduated from the University of South Carolina with honors, magna cum laude, and Phi Beta Kappa, in 2003. She currently is employed as an account executive with AT&T Business in Atlanta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Virginia Godwin of Fayetteville and the late Fred J. Godwin. A 1999 graduate of Troy High School, he was graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2003 with a bachelor of science degree in marketing and finance. He currently is employed as an ocean import agent in Atlanta with Expeditors International of Washington.

The wedding will be Oct. 2, 2004, at the First United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Ala. A reception will follow at the Early Works Museum.
