Glenn picks up Kemp endorsementBy JOHN THOMPSON
With less than a week to go, Dylan Glenn picked up a key endorsement this week in his bid to win the Eighth Congressional District. Former vice presidential candidate Jack Kemp stepped into local political waters Monday by urging voters to choose Glenn next Tuesday. Ive known him for more than 10 years and Dylan has a great vision for this country, Kemp said. The former U.S. Representative and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development said the Republican Party can truly never be a majority party until it involves more African-Americans and Latinos in the political process. Kemp was impressed last week with Illinois Senatorial candidate Barak Obama and said that Glenn has a chance to impress national leaders like Obam did, once hes elected. Dylan would add intellectual vigor to Congress, Kemp said. Glenn is facing former Fayette County resident Lynn Westmoreland in next Tuesdays runoff for the Republican slot to replace Rep. Mac Collins in Congress.
