Ramah Road open again; light at Hwy. 85 to get left turn arrowOfficials hope changes help school traffic Ramah Road has been reopened now that the repaving work is complete. Some striping work is still planned for the road, and a sidewalk will be added connecting the nearby shopping center to existing sidewalks on Redwine Road, said City Engineer Don Easterbrook. That sidewalk will eventually connect with a new multi-use path planned to extend south on Redwine, Easterbrook said. There is also more work to be done on the traffic signal at Ramah and Ga. Highway 85, Easterbrook said. A left turn signal will be added so motorists wont have to wait for oncoming traffic to head north on Hwy. 85, Easterbrook added. The Ramah Road light, which also serves the extension for Ga. Highway 92 south, is the easiest way for traffic coming from south Redwine Road to reach Hwy. 85. The city is trying to get the project wrapped up before school starts. Residents who live on Redwine have voiced concerns that on school mornings, the resulting traffic chokes the area.
