Kids hair salon part of Avenue expansion3 more stores planned for building with outdoor plaza By JOHN MUNFORD
Local residents can expect more upscale shopping alternatives as an expansion of The Avenue at Peachtree City is taking place. A hair salon specializing in childrens haircuts has been confirmed as one of the options that will be coming to new building under construction at The Avenue. Snip-its also offers special birthday parties for young girls and video games to keep the children entertained during the process. Lou Conti of Cousins Properties said the company is also looking at potential leases with a high-end womens fashion store, a gift shop/sundries store, a small restaurant and perhaps a local merchant. The four-store building is well underway at the site of the former Donatos Pizza, off the access drive from Ga. Highway 74 that serves SouthTrust Bank. Donatos Pizza was a chain restaurant operated by the McDonalds Corporation which flopped and folded nationwide. Instead of using that building, the site was raised, clearing the way for four new stores. A large outdoor plaza with seating will be located in front of the building, and a ramped walkway will connect the building with the adjacent Avenue building, which houses the Atlanta Bread Company and several stores, to encourage pedestrian usage.
