Scott Michael Brady of Peachtree City is graduating from Georgia
Institute of Technology on July 30 with highest honors.Ê A 1999
graduate of McIntosh High School, he has now enjoyed a very full
undergraduateÊcareer.ÊScott has earned a bachelor of science
degree in computer engineering, minors in biology and biomedical
engineering, and a certificate in German.ÊThese achievements
represent only part of his college experience.
Through Georgia Techs Co-op Program, Scott spent four
semesters working for Engineered Software Products of Lawrenceville,
gaining valuable experience in the fields of systemsÊintegration
and automation.ÊScott gained further work experience during his
last semester through a part-time job in Dr Hays biology
lab at Georgia Tech.Ê
Extensive travel throughout Europe was a side benefit of Scotts
two study-abroad programs.ÊA summer at Georgia Techs Lorraine,
France, campus offered classes inÊ his fields taught in English
as well as three-day weekends for enriching experiences such
as skydiving, para-gliding, canyoning, biking, mountain hiking,
wine tasting, sightseeing, and more.Ê The summerÊin GermanyÊwith
Techs Language for Business and Technology (LBAT) Program
offered classes taught in German, allowing him to finish his
credits toward a German certificate.
Like many universities, Georgia Tech offers a wide range of
non-credit classes for students wanting to pursue a variety of
interests.ÊScott completed classes in sailing, swing dance, and
martial arts before focusing on scuba diving. He has earned his
rescue diver certification as well as scientific diver and master
diver certifications, enjoying many dive trips with Tech professors
and students.Ê
A major part of the college experience is the strong friendships
developed throughout the years of study and growth.ÊScott and
his friends have enjoyed cheering on the Yellow Jackets at Bobby
Dodd Stadium and attending the fine performances at the Ferst
Center.ÊAtlanta offerings such as Screen on the Green, On the
Bricks, ethnic restaurants, and Martinis and IMAX at Fernbank
have found Scott and friends having a great time before graduation
sets them on different paths.
Yes, Scott Brady has enjoyed a full undergraduate career at
Georgia Tech.ÊWhat next?ÊScott is applying for one of a very
few spots open to non-Australians in the Marine Biology Graduate
Program at James Cook University in Townsville, Australia.ÊIn
the meantime, he hopes to continue working at Georgia Tech.Ê
Scott is the son of Michael and Carla Brady of Peachtree City.
