AMS racing series nearing finish lineOnce again, the Outlaws race at Thursday Thunder at Atlanta Motor Sppedway featured some of the best racing action between area drivers. Senoias Tina Johnson captured first place, while Fayettevilles Trey Maughan took fourth and Vince Ponder of Brooks placed sixth. Other area racers who did well were Fayettevilles Gene Redahan and Micah Willis, who placed ninth and 11th in the Chargers race, and Bre Sharp, also from Fayetteville, who finished eighth in the Young Guns race. This weeks Thursday thunder will feature the Mid-State RV Faster Pastor night presented by J93 (Atlanta) and FM 99 (Macon). Dont miss the Faster Pastor race, which will feature three area preachers during the intermission race of the next weeks Thursday Thunder. Fans are reminded to bring canned goods to be donated to food pantry of each preachers choice. There are two weeks of racing remaining and the drivers are jockeying to finish at the top of their division. Tickets for Thursday Thunder are just $5 for adults, $1 for children 6-11, and children under 5 are free. Parking is free. Spectator gates open at 6 p.m. with preliminary action beginning immediately.
