My wife and I traveled to Asia this past month. On the flight
home, a family of two adults and four children boarded our plane
in San Francisco. One child was an infant, twin boys appeared
to be about five, and an older girl appeared to be about eight.
This isn't remarkable. Families with children fly all the time.
What was remarkable was the behavior of the children and their
parents during these final four and one half hours of our very
long flight home.
Not long after the plane left the runway, the father went to
sleep and I didn't see him move again the entire flight. About
thirty minutes into the flight, the mother went to sleep also.
From that point on, the three older children roamed without any
supervision. MORE
