Still time to volunteer for Square Foot MinistryVolunteers of all ages and skill levels can still sign up for Square Foot Ministrys three-day countywide service event, Impact 04, set for Aug. 4-6, with a kick off dinner Tuesday night, Aug. 3, at Brooks United Methodist Church. The events goal is to complete as many small to medium size repair projects as possible during the three-day time period. Projects will range anywhere from small repairs, wheelchair ramps and roofing to yard clean up. There also will be free concerts each night for participants, as well as a grand finale celebration Friday night. Aug. 6, to be held at the Fayette County Amphitheater. The event is designed to enable youth to get involved in helping the less fortunate in the community. All age groups and skill levels are needed. Several area churches have signed up to participate but more help is needed. Square Foot Ministry is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian ministry organization based in Fayette County. Recent projects have included the new Fayette Samaritans warehouse and offices, the Curtis Petty home, and many other small home repairs.
