Prince of Peace to host performance of GodspellPrince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fayetteville invites the community to Godspell,, a play based on the Gospel of Matthew, Friday, Aug. 13 and Saturday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. in the churchs Life Center. The play will be presented by the St. Luke Lutheran Church Drama and Choir. Tickets are $12 per person and may be purchased at the church Sunday morning during all three worship services (8:15, 9:30, and 11 a.m.) or by contacting the church office, 770-461-3403 during the week. Godspell is one of the biggest off-Broadway and Broadway successes of all time, a church spokesperson said. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus Christ preaches through parables and storytelling. The show, which is not built on a traditional plot, utilizes clowning, pantomime, charades, acrobatics, and vaudeville to tell the story of Christ. A pageant that moves from moment to moment, Godspell is a reflection on the life of Jesus. Prince of Peace is on Ga. Hwy. 314 in Fayetteville between Lowes and The Fayette Pavilion.
