Square Foot Ministry plans service event August 4-6Square Foot Ministry is sponsoring a three-day countywide service event, entitled Impact 04, Aug. 4-6, with a kick off dinner set for Tuesday night, Aug. 3, at Brooks United Methodist Church. The events goal is to complete as many small to medium size repair projects as possible during the three-day time period. Projects will range anywhere from small repairs, wheelchair ramps and roofing to yard clean up. As an added feature, there will be free concerts each night for participants, as well as a grand finale celebration Friday night. Aug. 6, to be held at the Fayette Count Amphitheater. The event is designed to enable youth to get involved in helping the less fortunate in the community. All age groups and skill levels are needed. Several area churches have signed up to participate but more help is needed. Square Foot Ministry is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian ministry organization based in Fayette County. Square Foot Ministries was founded to give individuals a chance to express Gods love to the world, Becoming tools of Gods love one square foot at a time, a spokesperson said. We do this by helping those who are in need of housing or housing repair and who cannot afford it. Recent projects have included the new Fayette Samaritans warehouse and offices, the Curtis Petty home, and many other small home repairs.
