Fayette sending delegates to Democratic conventionKaren Kilgo, Karin Barber and Kevin Madden will represent Georgias Eighth Congressional District at this years Democratic National Convention in Boston later this month. All three delegates hail from Fayette County. I believe the fact that all the districts delegates come from Fayette clearly demonstrates that political tides are turning in favor of the Democrats in this county, said Kilgo. Republicans are beginning to feel the presence of Fayette County Democrats. We are alive and well and growing in Fayette. Karen Kilgo will serve as the districts only delegate for Sen. John Kerry. She currently serves as director for the Kerry campaign in Fayette County. She also serves as press secretary for the Mary Squires for U.S. Senate campaign and an active volunteer on the campaign to re-elect state Rep. Virgil Fludd (D-Tyrone). Kilgo also serves as vice chair of the Fayette County Democratic Committee, vice president of the Fayette Democratic Women, press secretary for the Eighth Congressional District, and a member of the state committee of the Democratic Party of Georgia. In addition, she has organized several partisan and bipartisan candidate forums. As a deputy registrar, she actively promotes voter registration in Fayette and Fulton counties. Karin Barber will serve as one of the districts two delegates for Sen. John Edwards. Barber serves as secretary of the Fayette County Democratic Committee, vice president of the Fayette Democratic Women, and vice chair of the Eighth Congressional District. She is also an active volunteer at the headquarters of the Democratic Party of Georgia. Formerly, she worked as campaign coordinator for the Eighth Congressional District and worked as a volunteer on Sen. Max Clelands re-election campaign. Kevin Madden will also serve as one of the districts delegates for Senator John Edwards.
