Two more Zaxby's headed to townConstruction is underway as brothers Jon and Michael Windham and partner Jim Glenfield prepare to open two Fayetteville Zaxby's locations, a Southeast favorite for chicken fingers and Buffalo wings. The north Fayetteville restaurant, located at 1325 State Route 85 North, near the Pavillion, is expected to open in mid- to late August. The south Fayetteville restaurant, located near the Town Center Shopping Center, is slated to open later this fall. " We are really excited about expanding the Zaxby's brand in Fayette County," said Jon Windham, who opened his first Zaxby's location in Peachtree City with Michael and Jim. "We look forward to providing another convenient location for our guests to enjoy the fresh, delicious food and excellent customer service they have come to know." Zaxby's built its business on providing the freshest chicken fingers, Buffalo wings, sandwiches and more in a fun, relaxing atmosphere. The new 3,500-square-foot locations will feature Zaxby's newest store design - a bright, open interior decor complemented by vintage memorabilia and signage, and will seat close to 90 guests. The partners will hire a staff of 40 to 50 for each location, consisting primarily of cooks and cashiers. "The key to success at Zaxby's is a great smile and a willingness to learn and grow," said Jim Glenfield, who will serve as operating partner. "We're a different kind of restaurant with a different kind of attitude - from the food and service we provide to our guests, to the respect we provide to each other." Jon, who moved to Fayetteville three years ago from Conyers, worked in home healthcare with Mike and Jim prior to opening their Peachtree City Zaxby's. "We all really enjoy working in the hospitality business," said Jon. "We've always loved the taste and concept of Zaxby's and knew it would be a great opportunity to bring that to Fayette County." The three partners' first Zaxby's, located at 210 Worth Court in Peachtree City, opened in October 2003. "The great success and the warm response weÕve received at our Peachtree City location is really what has made expansion possible for us," said Michael. "Fayette County is a perfect fit for the Zaxby's brand, and we are pleased to continue our partnership with this community." Zaxby's success is rooted in a simple operating philosophy developed by its founders that has matured into the companyÕs mission statement - consistently create encore experiences that enrich lives one person at a time. That statement is not only the driving force behind the company's pursuit to provide fresh, delicious food and excellent customer service, it's also what helps the company create a vibrant atmosphere for employees. ZaxbyÕs is a pioneer of the quick-casual format, providing services and amenities that fall somewhere between fast food and a sit-down restaurant. Guests will place their orders at the counter and receive a Òblinking coasterÓ to let them know when their prepared-at-order meal is ready. They can then enjoy their meal in a seating area of comfortable booths and tables reminiscent of a casual sit-down restaurant. ZaxbyÕs will also offer drive-thru and phone-in services to meet the needs of customers on the go. ZaxbyÕs most popular items are its hand-breaded fresh chicken fingers and fresh jumbo Buffalo wings, smothered in a choice of eight sauces with names like Wimpy, Tongue Torch, Nuclear and Insane. An alternative to fast food, ZaxbyÕs offers fresh, prepared-at-order chicken wings, Nuggetz, Fingerz and Zalads. The menu offers innovative Zappetizers Ñ Tater Chips (home-style potato chips), Onion Peel and made-from-scratch Spicy Fried Mushrooms. ÒWeÕve built our reputation and loyal following on our superior quality food and great tastes,Ó said Glenfield. ÒAnd while our focus is on chicken, weÕve found a variety of fun and delicious ways to serve it Ñ from fingers and wings to sandwiches and salads, thereÕs something for everyone.Ó ZaxbyÕs is a Òquick-casualÓ restaurant chain headquartered in Athens, Ga. ZaxbyÕs opened its first restaurant in Statesboro, Ga., in May 1990, and by July 2001 opened its 100th location in Jacksonville, Fla. ZaxbyÕs, which recently celebrated its 200th store opening in its hometown of Athens, Ga., has locations throughout eight southeastern states. The ZaxbyÕs menu features fresh, made-from-scratch chicken fingers, Buffalo wings, sandwiches and fresh-made salads.
