Detour begins for road project on Fayettevilles SouthsideBy JOHN MUNFORD
Part of Ramah Road has been closed temporarily while crews rebuild old pavement in the area, creating separate left and right turn lanes onto Redwine Road. The closure, which stretches from Redwine Road to the entrance of the Towne Center shopping center, is expected to last until July 28, city officials said. The project will also add a right turn lane for traffic heading north on Redwine for easier access to Ramah Road. Ramah Road, although small in length, plays a key role in area traffic as it provides access to Ga. Highway 85 at a traffic signal. The road closure has caused an inconvenience for some motorists, particularly those who shop at Towne Center. To reach Hwy. 85, motorists using Redwine Road are encouraged to use Price Road on the south end, where there is no traffic signal, or go north of Ramah Road to Grady Avenue where there is a traffic light to provide easy access.
