Senoia looking for city administratorBy JOHN THOMPSON
Senoia is on the hunt for a new city administrator. Mayor Robert Hannah confirmed Wednesday that Murray McAfee resigned from his post. It was really a mutual agreement and the resignation was effective Tuesday, Hannah said. McAfee came on board shortly after Dianne Cleveland was elected mayor in 2002 and had helped guide the city during the construction of its new sewer project. While the city looks for a new administrator, Hannah said the city will enlist more of the services of city planner Bill Johnston. Were all going to get more involved in the process, he said. The mayor hopes to find a new administrator within the next few months, but will not rush to make a decision. We really want to find the right man for the position, he said. Will the sudden departure of McAfee throw a crimp in finishing the sewer system? No, said Hannah. We had hoped to be finished by August, but we ran into more rock than we thought we would, but we still should be done by the end of the year. Hannah plans to start advertising for the position and conduct interviews over the next two months.
