Tai Chi classes offered for seniorsA new exercise class for seniors is being offered by Fayette Senior Services. Tai Chi Classes will be led by an Arthritis Foundation certified instructor and is designed with seniors in mind. Tai Chi has been shown to reduce pain and stiffness. It also may improve relaxation, memory, balance, muscle strength, stamina and much more. It may be a particularly good form of exercise for people with joint pain because of its focus on muscle strength and flexibility. Movements are slow and gentle and the level of exertion can be adjusted to suit each persons physical condition. Join us today and take control of your arthritis. The Tai Chi class is open to seniors 50 years and older. Not sure? Come and try the first class at no charge, but you must register for the class. There will be a four week session beginning Wednesday, Aug. 4, and ending Aug. 27. Another four-week session will follow in September. Classes will meet on Wednesdays and Fridays from 2-3 p.m. Class will be held at Fayette Senior Services, 390 Lee Street, Fayetteville (white house behind Melears Bar B Que) off State Road 85. The cost is $8 per four week session. Call Fayette Senior Services at 770-461-0813 for a registration form or if you need additional information.
