New program/event coordinator hired in Tyrone

The town of Tyrone announced the appointment of a new program/event coordinator for the Recreation Department. Jean Badura will be joining the Tyrone staff to serve the recreational needs of Tyrone residents.

Badura will be assessing the recreational needs of the community and working to fulfill those needs by implementing appropriate programs and serving as liaison between youth athletic associations and town council.

Badura has extensive educational and background experience in the recreational field, having graduated “Cum Laude” from the University of Massachusetts with a bachelor of science majoring in leisure studies and resources and having earned a master of science degree with a major in tourism and commercial recreation from the University of South Alabama. She has organized and run youth activities at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colo., and has served as director of community recreation centers in Frankfurt, Germany.
