Part of South Fulton variety music series in July and AugustPalmetto seniors who coax music from household objects will open the show for a rock/oldies singer-guitarist Saturday, July 10 in the free South Fulton Good Things Road Show concert series. The aptly named Kitchen Band will perform at 6 p.m., followed by the Mike Rogers Band. The concert will be held at Wilkerson Mill Park, 8095 Wilkerson Mill Road, Palmetto. This is the second in a summer series of variety music acts presented by District 7 Commissioner William Bill Edwards and the Fulton County Board of Commissioners to showcase Good Things in South Fulton. Headliner Mike Rogers, a 30-year professional, has performed with musicians from Wings, Kansas, Lynyrd Skynrd and Muscle Shoals Horns. His band has appeared at Chastain Park, Lake Lanier Islands, Centennial Olympic Park and other venues.Ê The Kitchen Bands members are Palmetto Neighborhood Senior Center participants who play rhythms on egg beaters, washboards and other everyday objects.
