Senoia sewer should be finished by end of yearBy JOHN THOMPSON
Senoia residents who have been dodging construction vehicles for the last few months will be glad to know the end is in sight. Senoia city administrator Murray McAfee said that all the construction for the citys sewer system should be completed by the end of the year at the latest. For the last few months, the East Coweta town has been a sea of mud as sewer contractors lay pipes and build lift stations. The project reminds on schedule, as far as cost goes, but McAfee said the progress has been hindered by some very large, unforeseen obstacles, such as the amount of rock in the area. Once the construction is completed, the entire town will be able to hook up to the sewer and the city will be ready for the massive growth that is projected to head its way over the next decade. The citys ordinance gives residents 90 days to hook up to the system, after its completed in their neighborhood. After the 90 days, residents will have to pay a tap-on fee.
