Deputies: Holiday brought more crashes than normalNo serious crashes occurred over the holiday weekend, but Fayette County sheriffs deputies noticed a dramatic increase in motor vehicle wrecks, police said. Normally, the weekend will bring about eight or nine crashes, but over the July 4 weekend, 20 motor vehicle wrecks were reported, said Capt. Bryan Woodie of the Fayette County Sheriffs Department. There was nothing unusual about them, Woodie said of the crashes. It was just a high amount of wrecks. John Munford
