Steele re-appointed to GMA committeeFayetteville mayor Ken Steele has been re-appointed to serve on the Georgia Municipal Associations Legislative Policy Council. Steele is also a member of the board of directors for the Atlanta Regional Commission. The GMA policy council is responsible for proposing the associations legislative platform and engaging other city officials in the legislative process throughout the year. Mayor Steele has extensive knowledge of both municipal issues and the legislative process, making him an outstanding candidate for the Legislative Policy Council, said GMA Executive Director Jim Higdon. The leadership he provides will be an asset to cities in his area of the state throughout the legislative process. The Legislative Policy Council, a grassroots lobbying effort, is the focal point for GMAs legislative policy effort, combining the efforts and input of the associations six policy committees with its district outreach program. GMA is a voluntary, non-profit organization that provides legislative advocacy, education, employee benefit and consulting services to its 500 members cities. The association is headquartered in Atlanta.
