New principal pickedSunny Williams was approved as Elm Street Elementary School's new principal for the 2004-05 school year. Williams, who has served as Coweta County School's system-wide lead teacher for gifted for the last year,will replace outgoing principal Derek Pitts. Pitts is taking on the principalship of East Coweta Middle School. Williams came to the Coweta County School System form Cobb County Schools, where she served as Lead Teacher for Murdock Elementary School in Marietta, and taught gifted in grades 2 through 4, and regular education in grades 4 and 5. A native of Valdosta, Williams attended Cobb County schools, and earned her B.A. in middle grades education at Shorter College in Rome, her masters in middle grades at Kennesaw State College, and her specialists in elementary education at Georgia State University. She is currently completing her doctorate in educational leadership at Samford University.
