Traffic diverted for gas leak on Hwy. 85 Friday morningA section of Ga. Highway 85 south of Fayetteville was blocked off for over an hour Friday morning as crews repaired a gas main leak at a construction site, officials said. The leak occurred when a grading crew struck the line near Price Road just after 8 a.m., said Capt. Pete Nelms of the Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services. Several buildings in the area were evacuated as a precaution, including the Fayette County Department of Family and Children Services, Georgia Farm and Ranch and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Nelms said. A self-storage facility is under construction at the site where the leak occurred. John Munford
