In the Allen Vigil Ford 40-lap Pro Late Model feature,
Frankie Farmer jumped out front early in the event, with Kevin
Stephens
applying considerable pressure
lap-after-lap.
As Farmer blasted out of the corners, Stephens would take the
inside grove and pull along side of Farmer's machine. The two drivers battled
door to door for several laps with Farmer eventually gaining an advantage
utilizing the outside grove.
On lap 27, Roger Delp was able to
make the pass on Stephens
to take over the second place position.Delp then began to close in on Farmer
for the lead.With five laps remaining, the two lead machines made
contact going down the back
straight-away which resulted in Farmer's machine making contact with the
inside retaining wall.There were no injuries in the incident, but
Farmer's machine
was retired to the pits for the evening.
The new running order was: Stephens,
Mark Bicker, Terry Crump and Norman Layton. The running order would remain
the same for the final five laps, with
Stephens taking the win; and James Kawahata advancing into the fifth
place position.
In the Sportsman 75-lap special feature event, Bob
Yarbrough jumped
out front on the first lap of the event; then lead the event flag-to-flag.Johnny
Todd held off Andy Cash for the second place position during
the early laps;
but Cash managed to make the pass for the second place position on lap 46
of the event.
Yarbrough went on to take the checkered flag with a superb
performance
from both machine and driver.
In the Larrys New and Used Tire's Modified
Street Stock feature, Larry Pierce, Jr., blasted into the lead on the first
lap and began to pull away
from the field. Pierce continued to lead the event in commanding fashion
when on lap 22, George Pierce, Jr., experienced engine failure which brought
out
the yellow flag because of oil on the speedway.When the green flag waved,
Sammy Short took over the lead and held off a charging Pierce, Sr., to take
the win.
In the Bandolero 15-lap feature, Vince Ponder led the first five
laps of
the event with Tina Johnson making the pass for the top spot. Johnson
would continue to lead the remaining laps as last week's winner,
Bre Sharp, advanced
into the third place position, followed by: Darrell Banks and Josh
McCullum rounding out the top five positions.
In the Legends Cars
25-lap feature,
it was Jeremy Kalina and Bubba Harry battling for the top spot
lap-after-lap. Chris Cable charged into the picture
and made a run on the top two machines several times during the
event, with Kalina holding off Harry and Cable to take the win.
In
the Aarons Pro Challenge 25-lap feature, Brett Butler jumped out
front when the green flag waved with Trent Mayo in close pursuit.On lap
three, Mayo was able to make the pass for the lead with Terry Mathis catching
Mayo
on lap 10 to take over the top spot. Mathis would remain the race leader
the remaining laps to take the win.

this Saturday night, there will also be the Aarons Pro Challenge 50-lap
Special.
