Moyers
speaks at Fulton Co-Occurring Disorders Summit
A recovering substance abuser, William C. Moyers, son of the famous journalist,
was the featured speaker for the Fulton County 4th annual Co-Occurring
Disorders Summit held recently at the Loudermilk Center in Atlanta. Moyers
discussed his addiction and long road back to a normal life.
More than 250 Fulton County treatment providers, advocates, consumers and
family members attended workshops on housing, funding, public policy, homelessness
transitioning, stress relief, and medication strategies.
The Summit is co-hosted by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, and sponsored
by the Department of Human Services, Eli Lily & Company, and local nonprofit
mental health and addiction treatment agencies.
