Armed man takes car from F’ville apartment complex

A Fayetteville woman’s vehicle was stolen by an armed suspect Friday night after she left it briefly to throw away some trash at a dumpster, police said.

As the victim walked back from the dumpster at Weatherly Walk Apartments, she noticed a man had gotten into her green Jeep Cherokee, said Det. Steve Crawshaw of the Fayetteville Police Department.

At some point, the victim also noticed the man had a gun, Crawshaw said. The vehicle was found Saturday in Greene County, Ala., Crawshaw added.

Detectives have identified several suspects and were conducting interviews and following leads, Crawshaw said.
