If you are tired of heartburn and reflux, read this article. It may
change your life forever.
About 40 million Americans suffer from frequent heartburn and GERD (Gastroesophageal
reflux disease). The "purple pill" has become the world's best-selling
prescribed drug and generated $6 billion in profits for its manufacturers.
This expensive habit, about $4 per day per pill, has been touted by doctors
as the "purple crack" because patients can't seem to live
without it.
Symptomatic relief may be great, but it is only temporary and has several
side effects. These drugs significantly reduce the acid content on the
stomach, which affects your ability to properly digest your food, absorb
your nutrients and may lead to other digestive ailments such as irritable
bowel, leaky gut syndrome, constipation, diarrhea, yeast infections,
etc. Reduction of the acid greatly reduces your primary defense mechanism
of killing off unhealthy bacteria and parasites that invade your body.
Recent research suggests that there may be a number of bacteria involved
in chronic stomach inflammation that may lead to stomach cancer. If this
is the case, researchers say, than people who are on medication to lower
their stomach acidity will tend to develop overgrowth of bacteria that
thrive in a less acidic environment, making them more susceptible to
stomach cancer. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association,
patients who opt for surgical intervention for GERD relief still need
medication years after surgery. In addition, there does not appear to
be any difference in the rate of cancer between those who have surgery
and those who take only medication.
Get to the cause and fix it. I have helped hundred of patients over
the years to find permanent relief from GERD and heartburn by following
these simple and easy steps:
Eat right. There are simple testing procedures to discover and
eliminate specific food allergies that you may not be aware that you
have. Eliminating these foods drastically reduces your chances of heartburn
and indigestion. Incorporating more raw foods in your diet is also
very beneficial.
Raw food enzymes. These plant-based enzymes act like little "pac-men" and
break down your foods and increase proper assimilation.
Probiotics. These healthy bacteria help restore the normal flora
in your digestive tract, improve your immune system and help fight
off the unhealthy bacteria that can cause inflammation and cancer.
Water. Increasing your water intake to at least 64 ounces per
day will help dilute the adid in your stomach and help normalize the
PH.
Structural adjustment. Occasionally the diaphragm may develop
a weakness where the esophagus passes through the diaphragm. Because
of this weakness in the muscle wall, part of the stomach pushes up
or herniates into the chest area. The valve at the top of the stomach
is
now stretched and open due to the herniation and cannot close completely.
A simple painless treatment may relieve this herniation and give you
immediate relief from your pain and burning.
There are many other natural and painless approaches to GERD and heartburn.
