Dye as adult supervisors, several teen members of Fayettevilles
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church traveled to Logan, W. Va., to aid
victims of the recent flooding there. The youngsters are students
at various
Fayette County schools and range in age from ninth to twelfth grade.
Those attending the trip included Chris Baxter, Ben Deters, Kyndall
Dye, Parker Dye, Tiffany Goss, Andrew Kollmeyer, Rebecca Kollmeyer, Joel
Kurucar, Matt Kurucar, Tess Menchinger, Megahan Puckett, Ryan Stagner,
Donya Stagner, Smantha Swaney, Michael Strait, Melissa Verill and Michelle
White.
The group conducted a Bible school, dug mud out of homes, cleared debris
from yards and worked side by side with the National Guard for a week.
Funds for the trip were provided by members of the church.Students said
they felt they received more than they gave with the outpouring of love
from the people of Logan.
Its time we hear about the good in our young adults in our
community, a church spokesperson said. These young adults
care enough to give of themselves in such an honorable way that it
makes us all proud.
